Who is the Kapiti AED Trust?

The Trust was set up in response to the growing realisation that peoples' lives can be saved if an AED (heart defibrillator) is available following a cardiac arrest.  Two members of the Waikanae Volunteer Fire Brigade, working alongside Wellington Free Ambulance, set up the Trust to own the AEDs and to assist local communities fundraise for one in their neighbourhood.

The Trust provides free training in CPR and the use of the AED.  In December 2015 the first AED was installed at Waikanae Beach opposite the Front Room Cafe
